Troy Waters discovered his passion for editing as a child, working on his father’s tape-to-tape linear editing equipment. Today, he is a highly accomplished editor with over 15 years of experience across a diverse range of programming. His credits include The D’Amelio Show, winner of the MTV Movie & TV Award for Best New Unscripted Series, and the Emmy-winning food show The Best Thing I Ever Made. Troy’s versatility allows him to tackle any genre, from competition and game shows to food and home content. As a lead editor, he excels at managing tight deadlines, keeping productions on schedule, and collaborating effectively to deliver high-quality results. In addition to his work in series editing, Troy has an extensive background in promotional content. He has crafted sizzle reels, trailers, and pilots for television and film, many of which have led to sold projects, including Extinction on Netflix and Auction Kings on Discovery Channel, which aired for five successful seasons. With a master’s degree in screenwriting from USC’s prestigious film school, Troy is renowned for his ability to transform even the most mundane material into compelling narratives. Outside the edit bay, Troy enjoys traveling and adventuring with his wife and two sons. Whether on safari in Africa or playing bagpipes in a parade, the Waters family embraces exploration and creativity in every aspect of life.
